Never let it be said that Warner won't fight tooth and nail for anything they perceive to be theirs. I think the bigger question is why can't they seem to manage to do anything with their properties? It's clear that they know they have something of value here. But it seems that they lack the understanding that it was creative talent that developed and made these properties blossom in the first place. And I'm not seeing Warners taking the steps necessary to cultivate and nurture that creative talent.
I see it as the difference between two gardens. In one garden, the seeds are thrown into the ground and the plants are dutifully fed and watered. But otherwise left alone. The other garden is tended by a gardener that not only takes the time to carefully tend to the plants, but actually understands what the plants need to thrive. Both gardens produce plants, but I'm sure you can guess which one looks better.
