Watching

The new laptop is here and it already presents new possibilities in gaming. Seriously, my son and I frequently take advantage of our home network to play a game like Age of Mythology together. Our preferred method of play is together as a team against computer opponents. Thus far the results are varied. Either we get overwhelmed by an agressive CPU or we crush it handily. Even using the same settings it's had to predict how tough the fight will be. The other problem is that the reaction time from my office is too slow so I often have to bring the laptop downstairs to make coordinating our efforts easier.

So now I have a new computer, which means transferring all of my presets from the old computer to the new computer. All of my brushes, palettes and macros. Yippee. And I'm running the latest and greatest from adobe, meaning a bit of adjustment. Hopefully I'll be back up to speed by the end of this week.

More to come - stay tuned!

This post got me wondering...

With my $100 credit coming from Job & Co., which game should I buy:

I'm looking to get into some of the more advanced gaming, but I need an easy entry. Whatcha think?

hahahaha, that looks like what goes on in my house <3

Kitty!

What, all of them?

Just kidding. I'd definitely reccomend RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Age of Mythology. I think both of those have pretty good learning curves. I've played both Rise of Nations and Age of Empires 3 and you might consider them if you find that you're enjoying these games. Both Age of Empires 3 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 require the latest and greatest of hardware - check to make sure your system can handle it before purchasing.

I tried the demo version of Star Wars Empire at War and I always felt it was a couple of steps ahead of me and I was trying to catch up. I actually gave up on trying to win the demo. Not a good sign.

Zoo Tycoon 2 is a lot like Rollercoaster Tycoon, but with animals. Designing your animal habitat can be fun, even more so to see how the animals react to it. One of my early experiences was with making an elephant habitat complete with pond and waterfall. I was standing in the enclosure admiring my work (you can walk through your park in zookeeper mode) when all of the elephants rushed past me to roll and splash in the pond. Too cool!
